For all of the kind compliments: THANK YOU! I recently found out that I am a recipient of the 2017 Forty Under Forty for HVACR Professionals awards that are chosen by The NEWS Magazine. The NEWS reached out to me a few weeks ago, and asked me to comment on our reasons for our marketing success here at Logan. ((I had no idea what was going on.)) I shared my comments with them, and unfortunately they weren’t published in the magazine. The ‘editor in me’ compels me to follow-up on that and share with you the real reasons I feel the last decade of my life has been so prosperous. Here’s a small snippet of the story that ‘wasn’t’ shared:
What makes you successful?
1) Behind every successful person is a very strong partner. For me, that’s John Kinsella He is by far the main reason I get to do what I do. He’s altogether encouraging and offers valuable insight when we talk about “work.” Along with him, I have a very easy-going kid who doesn’t mind finding something constructive to do while I take one more phone call or make one more idea scribble. These two dudes… they make it happen.
2) My little marketing team. If I had known this contest was even going on – *I would have nominated them!!* ((That means you, Erin Pulfer and Kyle Lucas.)) I am outrageously blessed to be able to work with both Erin and Kyle. They are the ones that bring these crazy ideas to life. I love our little team, and I’m energized by you both.
3) Our BIG HVAC team. I’ve had a lot of really fun jobs in my life, and HVAC is an amazing industry because of its PEOPLE. Our field services team, our CSRs, our admin, our sales team – you are all very inspiring AND really, you’re the only reason we have a story to tell here in marketing. You are the words and the pictures to it all! You should be complementing each other (not me) especially on the days when you make the choice to do the work that most other people don’t have the guts or the brains to take on.
4) Our business partners. It’s a privilege to work with the best media partners in the business. Our markets may be considered “small cities,” but I’ve had the opportunity of working with some of the savviest individuals who showcase the biggest hearts. They, too are passionate about this company and also put everything they’ve got into making us look our best in order for us to meet new customers. You all shine like the stars.
5) The culture. I’ve never been involved with a company/organization that embraces the capabilities of its people quite like Logan does. If it wasn’t for Jim’s ability to allow us to work-freely, take initiative on necessary projects, try new concepts, problem solve, and build on our past efforts – we wouldn’t have the means to be successful. Logan is successful because of Jim’s consistent drive to offer and allow new opportunities. It keeps our brand fresh and our business on the cutting edge.
No fake news here – that’s the real story. And again, thank you. It’s been a very wild and wonderful decade here at Logan.
…and now I’m getting very misty-eyed.
